At Jean-Bouin, where the Strasbourg travelling section had made its feelings clear, Liam Rosenior answered back after Paris FC’s 2-1 win over Racing.

The Paris FC coach was loudly booed and insulted by a section of Strasbourg supporters throughout Saturday’s match against his former club. At full time, Rosenior walked towards the away end and made broad celebratory gestures in their direction.
The exchange sparked a brief confrontation involving players from both sides, adding a controversial conclusion to Paris FC’s victory.
Captain Pierre Lees-Melou defended his manager’s reaction, saying Rosenior had been targeted for much of the game.
“He is human,” Lees-Melou said. “If you are mocked or insulted for 45 minutes, there can be a response. If you choose to provoke someone, you have to accept being provoked in return. Otherwise, say nothing.”
The midfielder reiterated that the manager would not have reacted in that way without the abuse and jeering directed at him during the match.
Rosenior later said his celebration was aimed only at a small group of Strasbourg followers, rather than the club as a whole. He said that group had never wanted him to succeed during his time in Alsace and had shown disrespect towards his family.
“Strasbourg is a fantastic football club, with excellent people who work there and support it,” Rosenior said. “My celebration was for a small group of people who never wanted me to do well at the club.”
Paris FC and Strasbourg’s early-season positions
Rosenior first joined Strasbourg in the summer of 2024 before leaving for Chelsea in January 2026. His spell in London lasted three months before he was dismissed.
He took charge of Paris FC during the summer and has made a strong early start in Ligue 1. After five rounds, Paris FC are third in the table, while Strasbourg sit seventh.
