On a warm-up evening at Riazor, Deportivo La Coruña briefly gave their supporters a glimpse of the new season before Porto’s greater depth turned the friendly in the Portuguese champions’ favour. The visitors recovered from an early setback to win 3-1, scoring three times after the hour in Galicia.
Deportivo strike first in a depleted contest
Antonio Hidalgo’s side were without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria, prompting the coach to use young forward Kevin Sánchez from the start. Both teams were missing a number of regular starters, and the match initially lacked sustained tempo.

Three minutes later, in the 63rd minute, André Silva completed the turnaround. The former Elche player then added a third in the final minute, striking an impressive volley to settle the friendly emphatically.
