A fracture that began on an A11 motorway service area has now reached the stands at the Parc des Princes. Paris Saint-Germain have barred Parias Cohortis, an 80-member section of the Collectif Ultras Paris, from the Auteuil end and from travelling to away matches after the group failed to meet conditions imposed following violence last season.
Parias Cohortis removed from Auteuil and away travel
The decision makes Parias Cohortis persona non grata in the Auteuil stand, one of the key areas of organised support at PSG’s home ground. The group had already been suspended temporarily last season after a violent confrontation involving Paris supporters on the way to Angers in April.
- Parias Cohortis has around 80 members.
- It is one of the groups within the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP).
- Its members are no longer permitted to enter the Auteuil section at the Parc des Princes.
- The group has also lost the right to join PSG’s organised away trips.
The measures followed fresh talks and a reassessment during the summer. PSG’s position was that any return to Auteuil and the wider CUP required the group to fulfil specific requirements within a set timeframe.
The condition PSG said was not met
Parias Cohortis had been asked to remove members considered responsible for violent behaviour and to change its place within the Auteuil stand. The group did not part ways with its most aggressive supporters, which PSG treated as the decisive failure.
The club maintains a zero-tolerance stance on violence and concluded that the essential condition for reinstatement had not been respected. As a result, the earlier temporary exclusion has become a more severe restriction affecting both home and away support.
April violence before Angers trip
The original incident took place before PSG’s Ligue 1 fixture in Angers, when two CUP groups clashed at a service station near La Ferté-Bernard, in the Sarthe department, on the A11 motorway.
- A coach carrying supporters was pelted with stones.
- Its windows and a door were damaged.
- About 40 supporters were seen walking along the A11 towards the service area.
- Several hundred CUP supporters heading for Angers ultimately turned back after the confrontation.
For PSG, the episode has continued to cast a shadow over the summer. The club’s decision leaves Parias Cohortis outside the Auteuil end, with no route back unless its position on violent members changes.
