PSG Midfielder Senny Mayulu Ruled Out for a Month with Thigh Injury

The international break has left Paris Saint-Germain with an early autumn setback: Senny Mayulu has returned from France Under-21 duty carrying a thigh injury that is expected to keep him out for around a month.

The move

The 21-year-old PSG midfielder was hurt while representing France’s Under-21 side in Estonia, where Les Bleuets won 2-0 on Tuesday.

Medical examinations after his return to Paris revealed a tear in his thigh, along with adductor discomfort. Mayulu is now set for a spell on the sidelines rather than an immediate return to Luis Enrique’s squad.

The absence removes a young midfield option from PSG’s rotation at a demanding point in the calendar, with domestic and European fixtures arriving in quick succession.

The French season around it

Mayulu has already been ruled out of PSG’s next three matches. Paris host Le Mans in Ligue 1 on 10 October before travelling to Manchester City in the Champions League on 14 October.

PSG then return to league action away at Strasbourg on 17 October, a fixture Mayulu will also miss as he begins his recovery.
