Seahawks, Broncos hit by key injuries entering Week 6 opener

Seattle and Denver will enter Thursday night’s Week 6 matchup with key absences on both sides of the ball, including Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet and Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II. The 2026 NFL Week 6 slate begins Thursday, Oct. 15, before continuing Sunday, Oct. 18, and concluding Monday, Oct. 19.

Seahawks rule out three players

Seattle has declared three players unavailable for Thursday’s game, thinning its depth at running back and linebacker.

  • RB Zach Charbonnet — out with a knee injury.
  • LB Chazz Surratt — out because of a calf injury.
  • LB Drake Thomas — out with an ankle injury.

Charbonnet’s absence removes a backfield option for Seattle, while Surratt and Thomas will both be unavailable to the club’s linebacker group.

Broncos without Surtain, Hufanga

Denver will also be missing two defensive starters or major contributors, with Surtain ruled out due to an ankle issue and safety Talanoa Hufanga unavailable.

  • CB Patrick Surtain II — out with an ankle injury.
  • S Talanoa Hufanga — out.
  • CB Riley Moss — questionable with rib injuries.

Moss’ status remains unsettled heading into Thursday night. If he cannot play, Denver could be without both Surtain and Moss from its cornerback unit.

Week 6 schedule

  • Thursday, Oct. 15: Seahawks vs. Broncos.
  • Sunday, Oct. 18: Week 6 Sunday games.
  • Monday, Oct. 19: Week 6 concludes.
