Sharjah FC Sign Flamengo Prospect Lorran for €1.3m

From Rio de Janeiro to the Gulf, Lorran’s long-anticipated Flamengo rise has taken a different route. Sharjah FC have completed the signing of the 20-year-old attacking midfielder for €1.3 million, with Flamengo retaining a 30% economic interest in a player once regarded as one of the academy’s brightest prospects.

A new destination in the Emirates

Sharjah have formally presented Lorran as their new player, bringing an end to his Flamengo spell after a career that promised much but never fully settled at senior level.

  • Sharjah paid €1.3 million for the Brazilian, a sum valued at approximately R$7.7 million.
  • Flamengo will keep 30% of the player’s economic rights, preserving a stake in any future transfer.
  • Lorran joins the United Arab Emirates club after returning from a loan period in Italy.

The move gives the attacker another chance to establish himself away from the intense expectations that accompanied him in Rio.

Record-breaking beginnings at Flamengo

Lorran made an immediate mark as a teenager. In January 2023, aged 16 years, six months and 20 days, he became Flamengo’s youngest-ever goalscorer when he found the net in a 1-1 draw against Bangu.

That milestone placed him firmly among the club’s emerging talents, yet regular first-team football remained difficult to secure. Across his professional Flamengo career, he played 33 matches, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

Italy loan and a brief return

Last season, Lorran spent time on loan at Pisa in Italy. His stay there brought 10 appearances and one goal, before he returned to Flamengo midway through the year.

He joined the squad’s training camp in Portugal and was handed opportunities after coming back to Brazil. He also scored in Flamengo’s 4-0 Brazilian Championship victory over Chapecoense.

  • Lorran returned to Flamengo after his Pisa loan.
  • He took part in the club’s Portugal pre-season programme.
  • He scored during the four-goal win over Chapecoense.
  • As injured players recovered and competition for places increased, his role diminished.

With his route into the Flamengo side narrowing, the club opted to accept Sharjah’s proposal. The Emirates now become the next stop for a player still carrying the potential that made his first Flamengo goal such a notable moment.
