In north London, Tottenham have chosen continuity at the start of a difficult campaign, with the club’s board maintaining its support for Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi despite a sparse return of points.
The news from the club
Spurs have collected only two points from their opening five league fixtures, leaving De Zerbi under early scrutiny after an unpromising beginning to his spell in charge.
The club’s problems have also extended to the League Cup, where Tottenham were eliminated by Liverpool. Even so, the directors have reaffirmed their confidence in the Italian, keeping him in place as the team seeks to turn its domestic form around.
