Udinese Confirm Vakoun Bayo Hamstring Injury and Rehabilitation Start

Udinese’s season has reached another testing moment in attack, with Vakoun Bayo facing a spell on the sidelines just as he had begun to take on greater responsibility for Kosta Runjaic’s side.

The coach and the club

The Friulian club have confirmed that Bayo has suffered a hamstring injury in his right thigh. The Ivorian forward has already started his rehabilitation programme, while his condition will be reviewed from week to week.

It is another unwanted attacking absence for Runjaic after Udinese’s defeat to Torino. Bayo was not included in the squad for Monday night’s match at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, with the injury now explained by the club.

The striker had found a more prominent place in recent weeks following Keinan Davis’s own injury problem. Given more minutes, Bayo had responded with both goals and creative contribution.

He supplied an assist against Inter and scored twice in Udinese’s most recent Serie A victory, against Venezia. His forced break now leaves Runjaic with another selection issue to manage as the championship continues.
