Union Berlin Hold Borussia Dortmund to Goalless Bundesliga Draw

Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund drew 0-0 at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Saturday in Bundesliga Matchday 6. Neither side converted a late set-piece spell in a match short on clear finishing.

  • Union defender Felix Uduokhai headed wide twice from late Trimmel corners. Rani Khedira also missed with a header in stoppage time.
  • Dortmund had late chances through Guirassy and Albert. Guirassy headed off target twice, while Albert headed narrowly wide from his cross.

What it changes in the Bundesliga week

Dortmund leave Berlin with a point but without a goal after their better openings were not taken. Beier sent a first-half chance wide from Julian Ryerson’s cross, then missed the target again after the interval. Nwaneri had a low effort saved before his substitution.

Union carried threat on transitions. Skarke flashed a 59th-minute effort over following an András Schäfer-led break. Jeong, Imeri and Schäfer also had attempts blocked or off target.

The final minutes belonged to aerial deliveries. Trimmel created Uduokhai’s two headed chances and Khedira’s late miss. Dortmund answered through Ryerson crosses, but Guirassy could not find the target. Gregor Kobel was tested only once in the first half, saving Nwaneri’s low strike, while Union held out through five minutes of added time.
