Venezia close Saturday’s Serie A programme with a match that already carries considerable weight at the Pier Luigi Penzo. Giovanni Stroppa’s side are the only club still without a point after four league matches, while Lazio arrive in the lagoon with 10 points, two behind the leaders and level with Cesc Fabregas’ Como.
The fixture kicks off at 20:45 on Saturday 19 September, with Simone Sozza of the Milan section appointed as referee. Lazio, coached by Gennaro Gattuso, come into the game after a high-scoring draw with Amorim’s Milan and have the chance to maintain pressure near the top of the early table.
A different kind of pressure at the Penzo
For Venezia, the immediate task is to turn a difficult start into their first result of the campaign. Four outings have brought no points, leaving Stroppa’s group isolated at the foot of the standings before the visit of a Lazio team that has made a much more assured opening.
Gattuso’s Lazio are expected to begin in a 4-3-3, with Mattia Zaccagni, Tijjani Noslin and Matteo Cancellieri in the forward line. Venezia are set to use a 3-5-2, pairing Adams with Yeboah in attack.
