Elversberg coach Vincent Wagner will be back on the touchline for Sunday’s Bundesliga meeting with Bayern Munich after his one-match suspension was overturned.
The newcomer from a town of around 13,000 people has made a sharp start to its first Bundesliga season. Elversberg beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-2, then won 4-3 at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Wagner had appeared set to miss what would be one of the biggest fixtures in Elversberg’s history. Instead, the German Football Association’s disciplinary body accepted the club’s appeal and cancelled the ban.
The second yellow card came as Wagner walked towards the pitch during the interval against Gladbach. Petersen initially interpreted the movement as an approach towards him.
Stephan Oberholz, president of the DFB tribunal, said the referee acknowledged his mistake. Petersen accepted that Wagner had not intended to confront the official and was heading towards his own players.
That leaves Wagner available for Bayern’s visit on Sunday. Elversberg goes into the match above the champions after two rounds, with a perfect six-point return and eight goals scored.
