Walker Kessler took a meaningful step toward his Lakers preseason debut Sunday, completing the full practice session as the club continues to bring him along.
The center has not yet appeared in a preseason game, but his participation in all of Sunday’s work puts him closer to joining the rotation before the exhibition schedule ends. The Lakers have not announced a specific game for his return.
For now, Kessler’s next checkpoint will be how he responds after the practice load. If there are no setbacks, the Lakers could soon get another true interior presence on the floor as they sort through their preseason frontcourt minutes.
