Injuries have taken an early toll on the NFL season, sidelining or limiting several of the league’s most compelling young players and forcing fantasy managers to search for short-term answers.
Quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, along with tight end Brock Bowers and wide receiver Puka Nacua, are among the players whose availability has become a concern. Their absences are felt beyond fantasy football, with the league losing some of its most exciting young talent on game days.
The injury wave has also reshaped fantasy rosters built around established producers such as Nico Collins, Saquon Barkley and DJ Moore. Managers who invested early selections in top players are now facing lineup decisions that may determine weekly matchups while injured stars recover.
Short-term help becomes a priority
The focus entering Week 3 is not necessarily on finding a season-changing waiver addition. For many teams, the more immediate need is identifying dependable stopgaps capable of producing for one week or covering a temporary absence.
With the season still young, roster flexibility and timely replacements could prove especially important as teams manage a growing list of injuries across the league.
