2026 Ballon d’Or Ceremony Brings Football Stars to London

London’s Palladium Theatre becomes football’s meeting point on Monday as the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony brings the season’s leading names to the capital. The award for the world’s best player will be presented from 17:00 Brasília time, following the familiar red-carpet arrival of players, former stars and guests from across the game.

Brazil arrives with three players placed in the final ranking for the men’s prize. Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos has finished 25th, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães is 21st, and Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior takes 17th position.

A gathering of eras in London

The approach to the Palladium has offered a reminder of the competition’s long European and international history. Ronaldo, Luís Figo, Andriy Shevchenko, Michael Owen and Alan Shearer were among the former Ballon d’Or figures and major names from past generations attending the occasion.

There was also representation from the coaching and women’s game, with Spain manager Luis de la Fuente, former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Napoli coach Rafael Benítez, and England and Chelsea defender Lucy Bronze appearing before the main ceremony.

For the Brazilian contingent, the ranking confirms recognition spread across three of Europe’s defining club centres: Paris, Madrid and north London. Marquinhos’ placing follows another campaign at PSG, Gabriel’s reflects Arsenal’s continued rise among the continent’s leading sides, while Vinícius remains Real Madrid’s highest-ranked Brazilian representative despite ending outside the top 15.
