Adrien Rabiot has answered one of Milan’s early-season questions with a convincing opening to the Serie A campaign. The midfielder remained at the club despite the end of his working relationship with Massimiliano Allegri, and he has quickly become an important figure under Ruben Amorim.
Across Milan’s first five league matches, the 1995-born Frenchman has produced two goals and two assists. Amorim has used him in every Serie A fixture so far, naming him from the start in each of the last three matches.
A decisive start in midfield
Rabiot made an immediate contribution against Torino, scoring once and setting up another goal on the opening day. He then registered a further assist against Lazio before finding the net again in the fifth-round meeting with Lecce.
Those four direct goal contributions are the highest total among midfielders in the fantasy championship, where Rabiot has an average rating of 8.2. His value has also risen to 53 credits, seven more than at the start of the season.
For Milan, the more significant measure is his influence within Amorim’s project. Rabiot has already scored one third of the six Serie A goals he managed during the previous campaign, giving the Rossoneri an established midfielder capable of adding a regular threat around the penalty area.
A personal target within reach
The Frenchman’s strongest scoring season in Italian football remains the 2022-23 campaign at Juventus, when he scored eight league goals. Milan are still at the beginning of a long championship, but his current rhythm has placed that personal best firmly in view.
His future had appeared less certain when Allegri’s spell ended earlier than expected. Instead, Rabiot stayed in Milan and has found a central role under the Portuguese coach, turning an initially unsettled situation into one of the side’s most productive early-season stories.
