Alexandra Eala’s calendar has carried her from the WTA Tour to the Paris runway circuit, with the world No. 18 making her first appearance at Paris Fashion Week before returning her focus to the Asian Swing and next week’s Wuhan Open.
Paris debut follows New York Fashion Week appearances
Eala attended Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation in France wearing a tweed Chanel jacket, black top and dark trousers. It was her first Chanel show, an experience she described as surreal while praising the chance to see the collection in Paris.
The Filipina also picked out the paired flowing dresses among her favourite looks, saying the designs suggested daytime and nighttime counterparts. She noted the collection’s balance of clean shapes, structured pieces and detailed, wearable styling.
The Paris engagement came less than a month after Eala’s run through New York Fashion Week following the US Open. She attended Tory Burch’s Spring/Summer 2027 show, where actress Amanda Seyfried, singer Lauryn Hill and former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour were among those present.
She later took a front-row seat at Michael Kors’ Spring/Summer 2027 event at the Museum of Modern Art Sculpture Garden and completed her New York appearances at Calvin Klein’s presentation.
Off court, Eala’s profile has continued to grow since she captured her first WTA Tour Driven by Mercedes-Benz title in Washington, D.C., during the summer.
Wuhan offers Eala a fresh chance
Her Asian Swing began with a difficult opening-round loss in Singapore to Tatiana Prozorova, who was ranked No. 180 at the time. The contest lasted more than three hours as Eala was unable to protect her advantage.
- First set: 4-6
- Second set: 7-5
- Third set: 6-3
Eala now heads to Wuhan for the season’s final WTA 1000 tournament. It will be her first appearance in the event as a direct entrant.
She has yet to win a main-draw match in two previous trips to Wuhan, falling in the opening round to Katerina Siniakova in 2024 and to Moyuka Uchijima last year. The Wuhan draw gives Eala another opportunity to reset after Singapore and chase a first victory at the tournament.
