On the shores of Lake Como, where the club’s rise has carried it into new European territory, Anastasios Douvikas has committed his future to Como until 2031. The Greek international striker has become a central figure under Cesc Fàbregas after arriving from Celta Vigo in February 2025.
Douvikas extends Como stay
- Douvikas joined the northern Italian side during the winter window of the 2024-25 campaign, ending a season and a half in Spain with Celta Vigo.
- He quickly established himself as Como’s first-choice centre-forward, playing 68 matches in all competitions and producing 27 goals along with five assists.
- Como have now agreed a new contract with the 26-year-old, keeping him at the club through 2031.
Before his move to Italy, Douvikas made 58 appearances for Celta, scoring 18 times and providing four assists. His impact has accelerated in Lombardy, with the forward leading the line during a period in which Como have moved into the Champions League for the first time in their history.
The competition is also a debut experience for Douvikas. He scored in each of Como’s opening three matches of the Champions League league phase, bringing a reliable finishing touch to the club’s first steps on the continent’s biggest stage.
Goals across Italy and Europe
In domestic league football this season, Como’s number nine has five goals. He made decisive contributions in victories over Sassuolo, Fiorentina, Napoli and Udinese, including a two-goal performance against Sassuolo.
Douvikas said the club’s ambition was evident from his first days in Como and described the squad as a close-knit family. He credited Fàbregas and the coaching staff with helping his development, adding that he wants to continue contributing by giving everything for the team.
Fàbregas praised the striker’s mentality, ambition and work ethic, saying Douvikas had displayed those qualities from the moment he arrived. The Como coach said the club were delighted to secure the Greek forward’s renewal.
