Atalanta enter the next league round with a defensive concern after Sead Kolasinac sustained a muscle injury to his left thigh. The experienced defender is unlikely to be available when the Bergamo side face Frosinone, with the club yet to set out a timetable for his return.
The coach and the club
Medical examinations identified a low-grade strain in the rectus femoris of Kolasinac’s left thigh. Atalanta confirmed that the player has already begun his rehabilitation programme and that his condition will be assessed again over the coming days.
For the coach, the immediate issue is the approaching meeting with Frosinone. Kolasinac’s availability appears doubtful for that fixture, although no definitive recovery date has been announced.
The club will monitor the former Arsenal player’s progress before deciding when he can resume full work with the squad. Until that reassessment, Atalanta must prepare for the next chapter of their league campaign without certainty over one of their defensive options.
