Madrid’s derby mood travelled quickly from the pitch to the screens on Sunday, with Atlético de Madrid extending their celebrations after a 2-1 victory over city rivals Real Madrid.
The Colchoneros used their social-media channels to post a meme aimed at Real coach José Mourinho, turning the result into a pointed joke at the expense of their neighbours from across the capital.
It was a small digital postscript to a significant local win: Atlético had taken the clásico by a single goal, and chose to mark the occasion with humour directed at the man on the Real Madrid bench.
