Barcelona Roar Back to Crush Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul

Barcelona turned a difficult night in Istanbul into an emphatic Champions League statement, recovering from an early setback to beat Galatasaray 4-1 with a second-half surge at a demanding away ground.

Hansi Flick’s side fell behind before finding their response before the interval, when João Cancelo brought Barcelona level. The equaliser changed the shape of the contest, allowing the visitors to take greater control after the break and turn pressure into a commanding European away victory.

Fermín López put Barcelona ahead in the second half, before Gordon extended the advantage as the Catalan side’s attacking depth began to tell. Adeyemi completed the scoring with Barcelona’s fourth goal, sealing a result that carried far more weight than the final margin alone suggested after the early trouble.

Lamine Yamal was central to the turnaround. The young forward supplied two assists and produced another moment of individual quality with a striking rabona dribble, underlining his influence as Barcelona took command of the match.

Barcelona had to withstand a testing opening spell and the pressure of an Istanbul crowd energised by Galatasaray’s lead, but Flick’s team responded with composure and increasing authority. By full-time, the contest had become another demonstration of Barcelona’s attacking power, and a significant Champions League win away from home.
