Bayern Confirm Luis Díaz Hamstring Tear After Arsenal Draw

Munich’s crowded autumn calendar has brought another setback for Bayern, with Luis Díaz ruled out after suffering a left hamstring tear during the Champions League draw with Arsenal.

The Colombian winger had begun the match on the bench after reporting muscular discomfort following Bayern’s game against Leipzig. Vincent Kompany introduced him in the 68th minute, but Díaz was unable to see out the contest. He was replaced by Ndiaye in the 90th minute, shortly before the final whistle.

Medical examinations have confirmed the extent of the problem. Bayern said Díaz “sustained a muscle tear in his left hamstring” during Wednesday night’s Arsenal match and added that the forward will be unavailable for the time being.

A demanding run for Kompany’s Bayern

The injury arrives as Bayern prepare for a significant sequence across Germany and Europe. Freiburg visit on Sunday at 17:30, with the visitors currently third in the Bundesliga, only one point behind Kompany’s side.

Bayern then face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday 31 before returning to Champions League action against Atlético Madrid on Wednesday 3 November. With absences already shaping the Arsenal encounter, the loss of Díaz further narrows Bayern’s attacking options for a run that will test their domestic and continental ambitions.
