Two members of Marseille’s sporting staff have left the club, with changes made away from the noise of match night and the training pitch.
Quick facts
- Bob Tahri left his role as sporting coordinator during September.
- Tahri joined Marseille in December 2024 following an initiative from Medhi Benatia.
- Aziz Mady Mogne, another sporting coordinator recruited under Benatia, is no longer under contract.
- Neither man has worked with Bruno Genesio’s current first-team squad this season.
Tahri had initially been brought in to handle player-care duties before seeing his responsibilities broadened within the sporting structure. His departure was formalised in September, although he had effectively been away from the club since the summer.
The former middle-distance runner has not attended Marseille’s training centre during the current campaign and did not work with the squad under Genesio. Tahri won bronze in the 3,000-metre steeplechase at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
In June, Tahri was the subject of an investigation concerning alleged moral harassment. His exit comes after a period in which he had already ceased carrying out work for the club.
Mogne has also moved on from Marseille. He worked as a sporting coordinator last season but has not been seen with the professional group since the start of the new campaign.
His contractual link with OM ended several weeks ago, closing another chapter among staff members initially recruited during Benatia’s sporting leadership.
