Bournemouth Cruise to 3-0 Win as Manchester United Struggles Continue

At Old Trafford, Manchester United’s difficult autumn deepened as Bournemouth left the city with a 3-0 victory on the eighth matchday of the Premier League. Michael Carrick’s side again looked short of answers, while Bruno Fernandes began on the bench following his recent comments and a tactical decision by the coaching staff.

The news from the club

Bournemouth took control late in the first half. In the 38th minute, Rayan found space at the far post after a defensive lapse and finished beyond United goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The visitors struck again before the interval. Leny Yoro slipped at a costly moment, allowing Adrien Truffert to deliver a precise ball into the penalty area. Marcus Tavernier arrived unmarked to turn it in for Bournemouth’s second.

United’s afternoon unravelled completely in the 71st minute. Bournemouth cleared long from defence and Lammens hesitated after coming out of his area. Evanilson reached the ball first and scored with his right foot to make it 3-0. A sizeable section of the home support headed for the exits before the final whistle.

The defeat was United’s third of the league campaign and stretched their winless sequence to eight matches in all competitions. Their last victory came on 10 September, a 4-0 Champions League win over Sabah FK. Their only Premier League success this season was the 5-2 result against Ipswich Town on 30 August.

The next stop: Stamford Bridge

Carrick now faces mounting pressure over his position before United travel to London next Saturday to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Bournemouth, meanwhile, depart Old Trafford having delivered one of the most emphatic results of the round.
