The Chicago Bulls have added perimeter shooting to one of their two-way spots, signing guard Jordan Hawkins and waiving guard Isaiah Stevens in the corresponding roster move.
Hawkins, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard, will wear No. 15 in Chicago. He joins Tobe Awaka and Jaylin Sellers as the Bulls’ three players on two-way contracts.
A proven volume shooter arrives
The 14th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Hawkins spent the first three seasons of his NBA career with the New Orleans Pelicans. Across 174 appearances, including 20 starts, he has averaged 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.2 minutes per game.
His career shooting marks stand at 37.4 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three-point range. Hawkins’ value has largely come from his ability to work off movement, get shots up quickly and provide spacing from the wing.
He produced his strongest scoring season in 2024-25, setting career highs with 10.8 points per game, 604 total points and 110 made three-pointers. He also tied his best rebounding average at 2.8 per game.
The Gaithersburg, Maryland native has recorded 15 NBA games with at least 20 points and has crossed the 30-point line twice. His top scoring night was a 34-point performance against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 13, 2024.
Championship background
Before turning pro, Hawkins played two seasons at Connecticut from 2021 through 2023 and helped the Huskies win the 2023 national championship. He averaged 11.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 23.2 minutes per game during his college career.
Hawkins made the Big East All-Freshman Team in 2021-22, then earned First Team All-Big East recognition in his final season. His 2022-23 honors also included NCAA All-Tournament Team and NCAA Tournament All-Region Team selections.
Chicago’s two-way group now has a new shooter in Hawkins, while Stevens exits the roster as the Bulls make room for the former lottery pick.
