Juventus supporters gathered in Trento were offered a picture of the season after the break: not a promise of instant glory, but a call for the club to recover its old ambition step by step. Giovanni Carnevali told the audience that Juventus would return from the pause at full speed, repeating the phrase for emphasis as the room responded warmly.
The coach and the club
Speaking at the Festival dello Sport in Trento, Juventus chief executive Carnevali struck a tone aimed at a fanbase that wants more than another valuable place in the Champions League. The expectation, he said, is for a Juventus capable of ending the campaign with a trophy rather than simply settling for qualification.
Carnevali encouraged supporters to make their voices heard at the stadium and embraced the evident connection with the Bianconeri public. He did not set a deadline or guarantee silverware, but his message was that Juventus would regain its stature through gradual progress.
He also pointed to the club’s work in protecting young talent. Carnevali cited Alajbegovic, saying Chelsea had attempted to take the player away with a very large offer. Juventus, he suggested, had avoided repeating the sort of situation Inter experienced with Palestra.
For Carnevali, the international break is therefore not merely a pause in the calendar. It is the point from which Juventus intend to resume their season with greater urgency, backed by supporters who still measure the club against its highest standards.
