FIFA’s Council will meet again on Thursday, bringing UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin into the same room as FIFA chief Gianni Infantino at a moment of considerable tension around the international game.
Ceferin is set to carry UEFA’s position into the meeting, where several sensitive matters are expected to be discussed. The gathering comes with a difficult backdrop, with the relationship between European football’s governing body and FIFA under particular scrutiny.
The face-to-face encounter between Ceferin and Infantino will be one of the central points of attention as the Council considers its agenda.
