Club Brugge Deny Inter Primavera Late in UEFA Youth League Draw

Inter’s Primavera side were left with a point that felt considerably smaller than their performance after Club Brugge struck late to draw 1-1 in Milan on the second matchday of the 2026/27 UEFA Youth League league phase.

Emiliano Bigica’s young Nerazzurri had led from the opening minute through Carrara and created enough to put the contest beyond their Belgian visitors. Instead, Da Silva, introduced during the second half, found the equaliser three minutes from time and denied Inter a first win of the European campaign.

A lead built early, but not extended

  1. Inter made the ideal start after one minute. El Mahboubi broke down the right and picked out Carrara, who brought the ball under control, held off his marker and sent a measured finish across Kestemont.
  2. The home side continued to dictate the early stages. In the 12th minute, Vukaj worked space after several dribbles and tested Kestemont with a left-footed effort, which the goalkeeper pushed away.
  3. Club Brugge, coached by Cremers, offered a reminder of their threat on 20 minutes when Elbay fired narrowly wide from the edge of the area.
  4. Inter came close to a second goal seven minutes later. Breda rose in the penalty area and headed against the crossbar.
  5. The visitors then produced two opportunities before the interval: Ferronato saved from Angulo in the 35th minute, while La Torre blocked Koren’s attempt a minute later.

Kestemont keeps Brugge in the contest

Bigica, the former Bari and Fiorentina player, saw his team begin the second half with the same purpose. The missing second goal became the decisive detail of the afternoon.

  1. In the 53rd minute, Kestemont made an important save from El Mahboubi’s first-time strike.
  2. El Mahboubi again drove Inter forward on the hour, but his individual run ended with a Brugge defender turning his shot behind for a corner.
  3. La Torre tried from distance in the 72nd minute, though his central and low effort was gathered comfortably by Kestemont.
  4. Brugge began to press in the closing stages. Soria’s powerful right-footed shot in the 82nd minute was diverted by the Inter defence.
  5. The equaliser arrived in the 87th minute. Da Silva, who had replaced Delorge ten minutes earlier, moved into position outside the box and sent a low finish inside the post beyond Ferronato.

Different feelings in the standings

The result gives Inter their first point of the league phase after the opening defeat against Real Madrid, but it will not remove the disappointment of allowing a match they largely controlled to slip away so late.

Club Brugge move on to four points, having begun their campaign with victory over Aston Villa. For Inter’s Primavera, the lesson is a familiar one in European youth football: territory and initiative must be turned into a margin before the final minutes invite a different story.
