Dabrowski-Stefani, Danilina-Krunic Secure WTA Finals Doubles Spots

Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani, along with Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic, have booked places in the doubles field at the 2026 WTA Finals Indian Wells, adding two accomplished pairings to the season-ending draw at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Two more teams confirmed for Indian Wells

The four players join PIF WTA Doubles World No. 1 Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend, who sealed their qualification in mid-August. The WTA Finals return to the United States for the first time since 2022, with play scheduled to begin on November 8.

The eight-team doubles competition is determined by the PIF Race to the WTA Finals standings. A Grand Slam-winning team ranked from No. 8 through No. 20 can claim the final qualifying place under the event’s qualification rules.

The doubles draw will use a round-robin format before the knockout rounds, with the champions receiving the WTA Finals Martina Navratilova Trophy.

Dabrowski and Stefani bring title-winning pedigree

  1. Dabrowski and Stefani will play their first WTA Finals together as a partnership.
  2. Stefani, representing Brazil, reached the final of the previous edition.
  3. Dabrowski lifted the 2024 title, becoming the first Canadian champion in either singles or doubles at the WTA Finals.
  4. In 2026, the Canadian-Brazilian team has reached a final across every tournament tier it has contested.
  5. They won the WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, the WTA 500 Internationaux de Strasbourg presented by Mammotion and the WTA 250 Lexus Eastbourne Open.
  6. They also finished runners-up at Wimbledon.

That run has carried Dabrowski and Stefani into the elite eight-team field with a varied season behind them: hard-court success in Dubai, a clay-court trophy in Strasbourg, grass-court silverware at Eastbourne and a Wimbledon final appearance.

Danilina and Krunic built their place through major finals

  1. Danilina and Krunic made an early surge on the PIF Race to the WTA Finals leaderboard.
  2. They captured the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open in Doha.
  3. The pair then reached the Australian Open final and the final of the WTA 1000 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
  4. In May, they added a Roland-Garros final, further strengthening their Finals position.

The team has contested four finals this season, each at WTA 1000 level or higher. Krunic will make her debut at the WTA Finals, while Danilina returns for a second appearance after previously qualifying in 2022.
