Dani Carvajal Joins Getafe on Deal Until 2027

Dani Carvajal’s next chapter will begin across Madrid rather than beyond it. The 34-year-old right-back has joined Getafe on a contract running to June 2027 after leaving Real Madrid in June.

The move

Getafe confirmed the signing on Tuesday morning, ending Carvajal’s spell without a club following his departure from Real Madrid.

La Liga had initially held up the registration process amid concerns over whether the proposed salary was viable, but the transfer has now been completed. Getafe said the Spain international would bring experience and leadership to the squad.

Carvajal arrives with 51 caps for Spain and one of the most decorated records in modern Spanish football. During his time at Real Madrid, he won 27 trophies, including six Champions League titles and four La Liga championships.

His first steps at Getafe

The defender has not been included in Getafe’s Conference League squad, ruling him out of Thursday’s 21:00 match against Romanian side CS Universitatea Craiova.

His first appearance for the Azulones could instead come on Monday at 21:00, when Getafe host Rayo Vallecano in a Madrid derby at the Coliseum.
