Juventus have tied another Marchisio to the club, with 17-year-old midfielder Davide Marchisio signing his first professional contract in Turin on Monday.
The teenager, born in 2009, has committed himself to Juventus until the end of 2028 after an encouraging start to the season with the club’s Under-18 side. A right-footed central midfielder, he has been regularly involved in decisive moments for the youth team and had already played a major role in Juventus winning the Italian Under-16 championship.
A familiar name in Turin
Davide follows a route deeply connected to the club’s recent history. His father Claudio Marchisio spent 25 years at Juventus, joining the academy in 1993 before becoming one of the defining midfielders of his generation for the Bianconeri.
Claudio made 389 appearances for Juventus before leaving in 2018, one year before ending his playing career. Like his father, Davide operates in midfield, and Juventus now see enough promise in the young player to offer him his first senior professional deal.
The surname carries weight at the club, but Davide’s contract is also recognition of his own development in the academy. His next task will be to turn youth-team influence into progress at a higher level, under the close attention that inevitably comes with being a Marchisio in Turin.
