De Bruyne Double Fires Belgium Past Turkey Ahead of France Clash

Belgium arrive in France with momentum after a commanding 3-0 win over Turkey, although two key midfield absences will reshape their plans for Monday night at the Stade de France.

Kevin De Bruyne was the defining figure in the victory, scoring twice as Belgium punished a Turkish side whose finishing lacked precision. Romelu Lukaku added the third goal to complete an emphatic display and send the Belgians towards Paris with confidence.

The result gives Belgium genuine ambition ahead of the meeting with France, but they will not be able to call on De Bruyne for the match. The midfielder is suspended, as is Youri Tielemans, leaving Belgium without two major creative options for the trip to Saint-Denis.

Lukaku’s goal will nevertheless be another encouraging sign for Belgium, with the forward continuing to provide the physical presence and finishing threat expected of him on the international stage. After Turkey were unable to take their chances, Belgium were ruthless enough to turn control into a three-goal margin.

Monday’s contest at the Stade de France will therefore bring a different challenge: Belgium travel with a statement win behind them, but must find answers without De Bruyne’s influence and Tielemans’ balance in midfield.
