Declan Rice Nears New Long-Term Arsenal Contract

Arsenal’s title-winning core looks set for another layer of protection. Declan Rice, already one of the defining figures of the Gunners’ midfield since his move from West Ham, is nearing agreement on a new long-term contract.

Arsenal move to secure Rice

Rice remains tied to Arsenal until June 2028, but the club are preparing to extend that commitment as they continue to lock down the key men in their project.

The prospective deal comes two days after Arsenal confirmed that Mikel Arteta had signed a contract extension. The English champions are now expected to turn their attention to Rice, whose influence has been central since arriving from West Ham.

  • Rice is close to signing a new long-term Arsenal contract.
  • His current agreement is due to run until June 2028.
  • The new terms would make him one of the highest-paid players at the club.
  • The move follows the confirmation of Arteta’s own extension.

A major salary increase

The proposed renewal would include a substantial improvement in Rice’s wages. His weekly salary is expected to rise from £240,000, roughly €283,000, to around £350,000 per week, or approximately €413,000.

That increase would reflect Rice’s status as a leading presence in Arsenal’s squad and an important part of the club’s long-term plans.

Leeds return expected

Rice missed England’s international break, but he is expected to return to action for Arsenal on Saturday when Leeds visit. Kick-off is scheduled for 13:30.
