DoorDash Becomes NHL’s Exclusive Delivery Partner in U.S. and Canada

DoorDash is stepping onto the NHL ice as the League’s exclusive on-demand delivery and pickup partner in Canada and the United States, a multiyear agreement that starts immediately and will put the company in front of fans from opening night through the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

It is DoorDash’s first NHL partnership, built around the game-night routine beyond the rink: meals, snacks and those last-minute orders that come between warmup and the final horn.

DoorDash’s NHL rollout

  1. DoorDash begins its NHL partnership immediately, receiving League marketing rights and the ability to use NHL trademarks in Canada and the U.S.
  2. On September 29, 2026, the opening day of the 2026-27 NHL season, the company will launch a DoorDash Puck Drop promotion in Canada.
  3. DoorDash will offer regular-season game-night deals in Canada each Wednesday and Saturday.
  4. On October 25, 2026, it will have an in-person activation at the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic in Winnipeg.
  5. Its branding and promotions will continue through the Stanley Cup Playoffs, including Canadian Prime Video playoff broadcasts.

Where fans will see it

The deal includes Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards during nationally televised NHL games, giving DoorDash broadcast-visible rink-board placement. The company will also be part of the League’s major event calendar, with integrations tied to the Discover NHL Winter Classic, the Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series and the playoffs.

In Canada, DoorDash will present every Wednesday-night regular-season national NHL game on Prime Video, along with the platform’s Stanley Cup Playoff telecasts.

Gina Igwe, DoorDash’s vice president of brand, creative and consumer marketing, said hockey viewing in Canada carries a family element that extends beyond the score. “Hockey night is a tradition shared across generations,” she said, adding that the partnership is intended to let fans spend less time handling food, snacks and urgent needs and more time watching the game.

Chris Falkiner, the NHL’s group vice president of business development, said the League’s highly engaged fan base is also a strong audience for delivery services. He said DoorDash serves communities across both countries and can support fans’ game-night ordering wherever NHL hockey is played.

More promotions to come

DoorDash plans to introduce a North American NHL creative campaign in the coming months. Additional fan offers and sweepstakes are also planned, including a trigger-based promotion connected to moments when games intensify.

The new arrangement links the League’s on-ice product with the at-home ritual around it, aiming to make the kitchen-and-couch side of a hockey night a little easier to manage.
