Enzo Le Fée’s future is settled in the north of England. The 26-year-old French midfielder has signed a new Sunderland contract running until 2031, extending his stay by two more years after becoming a central figure in Régis Le Bris’s side.
The move
Le Fée joined Sunderland in January 2025, initially arriving on loan from Roma before completing a permanent transfer to the Black Cats. He has now committed his long-term future to the club, with the new agreement keeping him at the Stadium of Light until 2031.
“From the moment I arrived, I felt the supporters’ passion and the ambition shared throughout the club,” Le Fée said. “We have achieved something remarkable together over the past two seasons, but I believe this is only the start. I feel completely at home here and cannot wait to keep improving.”
The midfielder has played 64 matches since his arrival, producing nine goals and 10 assists. His influence has grown steadily under Le Bris, whose system has made him an automatic selection in Sunderland’s midfield.

Le Fée’s contract extension comes after a rapid rise for Sunderland under French coach Le Bris. During the midfielder’s season and a half at the club, the side won promotion to the Premier League and then secured qualification for the Europa League.
For Le Fée, the new deal confirms that Sunderland see him as one of the pillars of the next stage rather than a short-term solution. After helping to drive their climb through English football, the Frenchman is now tied to the project for the rest of the decade.
