In Seville, a delayed payment from Istanbul has brought a FIFA case into focus around Youssef En-Nesyri’s 2024 move to Fenerbahçe. Sevilla have recovered the €3 million instalment that fell due on 30 April 2026, while the Turkish club have also been ordered to meet a further payment connected to the transfer.
The news from the club
Sevilla sold the Morocco international to Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2024 for €19.5 million. After Fenerbahçe failed to pay an agreed instalment, the Andalusian club brought the matter before FIFA.
FIFA responded by imposing a transfer ban covering three registration periods on the Istanbul side. The restriction is described by Fenerbahçe as temporary and stems specifically from the unpaid En-Nesyri fee.
Fenerbahçe said its new board had settled the overdue €3 million payment after taking office. It also confirmed that Sevilla’s FIFA claim included the next instalment of the deal, for which the club had awaited FIFA’s ruling before making payment.
“The ban is temporary and concerns the transfer fee for Youssef En-Nesyri,” Fenerbahçe said, acknowledging that proceedings had followed the non-payment of the 30 April instalment. The club added that the outstanding amount had since been paid by its administration.
The calendar in Istanbul
Fenerbahçe stated that it would pay the amount required by FIFA on Monday, the next working day, before completing the formalities needed for the three-window ban to be removed.
The club is due to hold its ordinary general assembly on 27 September 2026, when it says financial statements and outstanding obligations from the previous period will be presented to congress members and the public.
En-Nesyri has since left Fenerbahçe for Arab football in a €16 million deal. That figure was below the €19.5 million paid to Sevilla, meaning there was no profit on the Turkish club’s sale and no additional sell-on payment for the Spanish side.
