Ferran Torres has made an immediate mark on the French season, with the Paris Saint-Germain forward named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for September on Friday.
The Spain international collected 40% of the vote for the UNFP award, finishing ahead of Monaco’s Paris Brunner on 32% and Paris FC forward Lassine Sinayoko on 28%.
A rapid PSG start
Torres arrived in France a little more than two months ago and has quickly become decisive for PSG. He has scored four goals in five Ligue 1 appearances so far.
Two of those strikes directly delivered wins in September. Torres scored the only goal in PSG’s 1-0 victory over Brest on 13 September, then found the net again a week later as Paris beat Marseille 2-1 on 20 September.
It is the first Ligue 1 Player of the Month honour for the 25-year-old, whose adaptation to the French champions has been swift and productive.
