Riyadh offered Cristiano Ronaldo an immediate return to the familiar rhythm of scoring, as the Portuguese forward reached 980 career goals in his first Saudi Pro League appearance after the controversial episode involving Portugal’s national team.
Back with Al Nassr after the international break, Ronaldo found the net to move another step closer to the 1,000-goal landmark. The strike came in his first league outing since the dispute that had followed his time with the Portugal squad.
The 40-year-old’s latest milestone extends a career that has crossed Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Portugal and now Saudi Arabia. In Riyadh, the number was the headline: 980 official senior goals, with the final century of his remarkable total now in sight.
