Fiorentina vs Napoli: Pellegrino Starts as Politano Leads Napoli Attack

Fiorentina and Napoli bring the final Serie A Sunday before the international break to the Franchi, with both sides naming matching 4-2-3-1 systems for the lunchtime meeting.

Fiorentina hand Pellegrino the central role

Paolo Vanoli has placed David De Gea in goal behind a four-man defence of Jimenez, Dragusin, Ranieri and Viery.

Ndour and Fagioli form the midfield pairing, while Atta operates behind the striker. Mastantuono and Njie are selected on the wings, with Pellegrino preferred to Beto as Fiorentina’s centre-forward.

  1. De Gea starts in goal for Fiorentina.
  2. Jimenez, Dragusin, Ranieri and Viery make up the defensive line.
  3. Ndour and Fagioli are tasked with the midfield duties.
  4. Mastantuono, Atta and Njie support Pellegrino in attack.

Napoli reshuffle in goal

Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri has also chosen a 4-2-3-1, with Milinkovic-Savic returning between the posts because Meret is unavailable.

Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Rafa Marin and Olivera complete the Napoli defence. Gilmour and Lobotka sit in midfield, while Kevin De Bruyne is deployed in the advanced central position behind Hojlund.

Politano and Lang take the wide attacking places as Napoli look to carry their momentum into the break.

  1. Milinkovic-Savic replaces the unavailable Meret in goal.
  2. Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Rafa Marin and Olivera start at the back.
  3. Gilmour and Lobotka are selected in the double pivot.
  4. Politano, De Bruyne and Lang operate behind Hojlund.
