Under the lights at the Stadium, Toulouse could welcome back a familiar figure on Saturday night. Guillaume Restes has returned to full training after missing last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Lorient and is expected to be available for Le Havre’s visit at 20:45.
The Toulouse goalkeeper had been rested after suffering a thigh problem, with 19-year-old Mathys Niflore stepping in at the Stade du Moustoir. Restes resumed collective work on Monday and completed the week’s sessions normally, putting him in line to reclaim his starting place.
Head coach Jens Berthel Askou nevertheless kept the door slightly open until Friday’s final assessment. “So far, everything is going well,” he said of the goalkeeper. “We will make the final decision tomorrow. Today it is too early. But all three could be ready.”
Decisions still pending on Nicolaisen and Dönnum
The other two players in Askou’s calculation are captain Rasmus Nicolaisen and Aron Dönnum. Nicolaisen has been dealing with a calf issue, while Dönnum is working his way back after a family bereavement.
There is a possibility that Nicolaisen could return, although his coach was careful not to make a firm commitment. Dönnum’s progress, meanwhile, has been described as highly encouraging. The Norwegian left-footer has been training increasingly well after taking part in pre-season preparations but has yet to appear in Ligue 1 this term.
Toulouse will not take a risk with him before the approaching international break. Dönnum will only be selected if he is considered fully fit, leaving the final squad call as one of the remaining questions before Le Havre arrive.
