Midfield contributions despite Calhanoglu absence
Hakan Calhanoglu also carries an 8.8 average, despite missing Inter’s last two fixtures against Udinese and Roma because of an adductor issue. In his first three league appearances, the Turkish midfielder scored twice, finding the net against Monza and Cagliari.
Nicolò Barella has added an important contribution from midfield. The 1997-born Italy international scored his first goal of the season against Udinese, having previously created Calhanoglu’s goal in the third-round match with Cagliari. He has received only one yellow card so far.
Carlos Augusto makes limited minutes count
Carlos Augusto has played only three league matches, but each appearance has carried weight. His average stands at 8.2 after he set up Thuram in Inter’s 3-2 victory over Napoli and then scored himself against Udinese.
