Bologna will take another turn on the sporting calendar in November, when the 2026 Davis Cup Finals bring eight national teams to the Emilia-Romagna capital for the closing week of the men’s team competition.

Italy and Spain kept apart until a possible final
Italy and Spain, the top two teams in the ranking, are positioned so that they cannot meet before a potential final. That places both countries on opposite sides of the draw as they pursue the Davis Cup trophy.
Germany are among the seeded sides, with Alexander Zverev their leading figure, while the Czech Republic arrive with a particularly strong group including Jakub Mensik, Jiri Lehecka and Tomas Machac.
South Korea and Austria appear, on paper, to offer the more manageable first-round pairings. Great Britain nonetheless bring major doubles strength, while Canada could become a more difficult proposition should Denis Shapovalov and Gabriel Diallo return to full availability.
For Bologna, the draw is the first step towards a six-day finals week in which the championship will be decided match by match, with the final nation standing lifting the Davis Cup.
