Joane Gadou has made an encouraging start to life at Borussia Dortmund after arriving in the summer. The young French defender has stood out with his pace and physical presence in the first weeks.
There has also been a clear development point. Gadou has shown weaknesses when Dortmund have the ball, with his work in possession still less convincing than his defensive attributes.
The early picture is therefore mixed, but Dortmund have seen enough athletic potential in their summer signing to underline why he was brought in. His next step will be becoming more secure and effective in possession.
