Martinook takes the field in Raleigh
Martinook stepped into the spotlight during NC State’s football game against Richmond, working the crowd at Carter-Finley Stadium while wearing the retired No. 17 of former Wolfpack quarterback Philip Rivers.
Rivers played at NC State from 2000 through 2003, and the school retired his number following his final home game in 2003.
Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour was also at the stadium, which sits beside Lenovo Center, Carolina’s home rink. The Stanley Cup did not make an appearance with the group.

NC State earned its first victory of the season in emphatic fashion, blanking Richmond 73-0.
For Martinook, the football-stage appearance was a short ride from the building where the Hurricanes will soon get their own crowd going for the start of the NHL schedule.
