The Utah Jazz will open the regular season without a clear timetable for Jusuf Nurkić after the center suffered a partial plantar plate tear in the second toe of his right foot.
Nurkić was injured in Utah’s preseason opener against the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 4. The Jazz said he will be examined again in four weeks, with another update expected after that evaluation.
Frontcourt minutes shift while Nurkić is sidelined
The injury removes an experienced interior option from Utah’s preseason rotation and leaves the club to sort out its center minutes while Nurkić recovers. No return date was announced.
A plantar plate injury affects the tissue supporting the toe joint, and the Jazz will wait for the next medical review before determining Nurkić’s availability beyond the initial four-week window.
