Turin has become another stop in Arkadiusz Milik’s prolonged battle with injury. Juventus’ Polish forward has suffered a fresh muscular problem, sustained on Sunday, before making a single appearance this season. The latest issue is understood to be muscle fatigue rather than a serious new setback, but it extends a difficult sequence that has left him with only 34 minutes of football since June 2024.
Luciano Spalletti values the 32-year-old’s qualities, yet Juventus have not registered him for either Serie A or the Europa League. As a result, Milik’s only possible route onto the pitch is the Coppa Italia, provided he recovers in time. Juventus are due to host Sassuolo in the round of 16 on 3 December.
The current campaign had offered only the smallest glimpse of involvement: Milik was named among the substitutes twice before being omitted from the domestic league and European squads. His absence follows a succession of physical blows dating back to international duty with Poland.
A long road back
Milik damaged his knee while playing for Poland on 8 June 2024, an injury that ruled him out for the entirety of the 2024-25 season. A year later, on 25 June 2025, he fractured his tibia and did not return to availability until December. The new muscular complaint arrives after that already lengthy rehabilitation process.
It is not the first time that injury has interrupted the former Napoli striker’s career. During his loan at Marseille, a knee problem suffered in May 2021 kept him out until 29 September. Marseille made his move permanent in 2022, then sent him to Juventus on loan, before the Turin club completed a permanent transfer in 2023.
For now, the Coppa Italia is the only competition in which Milik can feature. Whether the Sassuolo tie becomes a first opportunity of the season will depend on how quickly this latest physical concern settles.
