Juventus Lead Serie A TV Ratings as DAZN Audience Tops One Million

Serie A has reached autumn with its table still tightly packed and its television audience already revealing a familiar hierarchy. Eight teams are separated by only three points after five rounds, yet Juventus have established a clearer advantage in the viewing figures, becoming the only club to average more than one million viewers per match on DAZN.

The league now enters a 20-day pause, the longest international break in its history, after an opening stretch that ran through August and September. Across the first five matchdays, DAZN recorded almost 25 million total viewers. Juventus led the way with an average audience of 1,004,734 per game, a figure that no rival has matched.

Milan sit second in the audience rankings on 917,161 viewers per match, nearly 90,000 behind Juventus, while reigning champions Inter are third with an average below 876,000. A year ago, Juventus, Milan and Inter had all cleared the one-million mark; this time the Bianconeri are alone at that level.

The strongest individual audience of the season so far came when Juventus met Milan in the third round. That match drew 1,620,240 viewers, making it the most watched Serie A fixture of the campaign to date. Juventus also supplied the leading match of the following weekend, when their game against Sassuolo attracted the largest audience of the round, despite Lazio and Milan having played out a dramatic 2-2 draw the previous day.

Roma’s early momentum under Gian Piero Gasperini has also carried into the television numbers. The league leaders featured in the most watched game of both the opening round, against Fiorentina, and the fifth round, when they faced Inter. Napoli’s meeting with Como was the standout fixture of matchday two, with more than one million viewers following a game played in intense heat.

Fiorentina provide the growth story

Fiorentina are the only side to have increased their average audience compared with last season, recording an 8% rise. The figure reflects the renewed attention around a squad reshaped in the summer by sporting director Fabio Paratici, who brought in 13 new players.

Roma have broadly maintained last season’s level, with a limited 4% decline, helped by the interest surrounding their 1-0 derby victory in the fourth round. Elsewhere, Cagliari have emerged as an early surprise in the standings, sitting fourth and above Milan after five matches. Lazio, however, have seen their audience fall by 22% from last season despite supporter protests and stadium boycotts.

Across the league, the opening weekend produced 4,233,742 viewers, a marginal 0.6% increase on the 4,208,481 recorded for the corresponding round last year. The second matchday made a more substantial gain, rising 10.2% from 4,331,770 to 4,775,751.

The third round offers a reminder of the standard Serie A is attempting to reach. Last season’s equivalent weekend approached six million DAZN viewers, the highest total ever recorded, driven by the Derby d’Italia. Juventus and Inter will not meet this time until January, leaving the championship’s biggest television event still waiting on the winter calendar.
