Barcelona’s early-season momentum has carried Karim Adeyemi back into the Germany picture, with Jürgen Klopp selecting the 24-year-old winger for October’s UEFA Nations League programme.
Adeyemi had been absent from the national side since October 2025 and also missed the World Cup. His return follows Germany’s change of coach, with Klopp succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, and a lively opening spell in Catalonia.

Klopp has divided his 44-man selection into two groups for the four-match Nations League window. Adeyemi is included in the later party, which is due to meet Serbia on 1 October before travelling on to face Greece three days later.
The winger’s first seven Barcelona outings have offered an encouraging start to his life at the club. Three goals and two assists have helped put him back on Germany’s radar, and the coming matches give him an opportunity to establish himself among Klopp’s regular options.
Ter Stegen has also returned after missing the World Cup, having been sidelined by a muscular injury. The Barcelona goalkeeper, spending the season on loan with Ajax, has been selected for Germany’s earlier fixtures against the Netherlands on 24 September and Greece on 27 September.
For both players, the Nations League window offers a route back into the international rhythm: Adeyemi arriving from a productive new chapter in Barcelona, Ter Stegen returning after injury and a temporary move to Amsterdam.
