Kate Scott Jokes About Man City Charges in CBS Clash With Micah Richards

Champions League night took an unexpected turn in the CBS Sports studio when Kate Scott used the programme’s introductions to aim a pointed joke at Micah Richards over Manchester City’s ongoing threat of sanctions.

A studio introduction becomes the story

Scott began by presenting Thierry Henry as a man whose honours include the World Cup, European Championship, Champions League, Premier League and LaLiga.

Jamie Carragher followed, with Scott noting his Champions League success as well as the UEFA Cup — now known as the Europa League — the FA Cup and League Cup.

Richards, the former Manchester City defender, was then the target. Scott said he had the fewest trophies among the panel for the moment, before referring to the possibility that City could face punishment which might affect the medals he won.

She described him as still holding Premier League and FA Cup winner’s medals “for now”, and joked about what he might tell women viewers if he were required to return them to Stoke City or Manchester United.

Henry stunned, Carragher amused

Richards responded by looking down at his notes rather than answering immediately. Henry could be heard reacting with a quiet “wow”, while Carragher laughed and applauded the remark.

The exchange, delivered in front of the Champions League broadcast panel, quickly circulated across social media.
