Atalanta’s preparations for the trip to Milan have been disrupted by a fresh injury concern, with Franck Kessié ruled out of the San Siro fixture after tests revealed a minor strain in his right calf.
Kessié unavailable for the Milan trip
Maurizio Sarri will have to plan without the midfielder for Atalanta’s away match against Milan. Kessié underwent instrumental examinations during the day, which identified a low-grade distraction to the calf of his right leg.
- Kessié has sustained a low-grade injury to his right calf.
- He will be assessed again over the coming days.
- His absence against Milan at San Siro is confirmed.
The loss adds another complication at a point when Atalanta are already monitoring several members of the squad rather than working with a fully available group.
Raspadori awaits further examinations
There is still no final update on Giacomo Raspadori’s condition. The forward completed treatment work and is due to undergo further medical checks on the following day.
Those examinations should provide a clearer indication of his availability, leaving Atalanta to wait before defining his next steps in training or selection.

Elsewhere, the club reported progress at different stages for the players currently being managed by the medical and fitness staff.
- Giorgio Scalvini and Odilon Kossounou continued with treatment.
- Isak Hien, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Pompei worked both in the gym and on the pitch.
- Raoul Bellanova returned to full team training.
Bellanova’s return to the group offers a more encouraging note, but Atalanta head towards a demanding Sunday in Milan with Kessié definitely missing and Raspadori’s situation still unresolved.
