Kylian Mbappé Ends Nike Era to Sign 10-Year Deal With On

At 27, Kylian Mbappé has closed a chapter that began when he was a boy in Bondy. The France captain and Real Madrid forward has ended his long association with Nike and committed to a 10-year partnership with Swiss sportswear company On.

A 20-year link with Nike comes to an end

Mbappé confirmed his departure from Nike in an Instagram story on Saturday, one day after On announced him as its new ambassador. He described the decision as a particularly difficult one, reflecting on a relationship that started when he was seven years old.

  • Mbappé said Nike had been part of his life since childhood.
  • He noted that the brand had stood beside him for two decades, through his rise from Bondy to the France national team and the World Cup.
  • The forward recalled working on boots intended to represent his background, ambitions and personal journey.
  • He said one of his proudest moments was seeing those boots worn by millions of children, in whom he often saw elements of his younger self.

In his message, Mbappé thanked Nike for accompanying him through every stage of his development, from local prospect to one of the defining figures of French football.

On secures Mbappé for the next decade

The new agreement with On will run for 10 years. The rapidly growing Swiss brand, whose shareholders include tennis great Roger Federer, has added one of football’s biggest names as it continues to build its presence in the sport.

Mbappé will not only serve as an ambassador. He is also becoming a shareholder in the company and will be involved in the development of football boots and clothing.

A new page beyond the pitch

For Mbappé, the deal marks the beginning of what he called a new stage in his story. The move brings an end to his historic Nike contract while placing him at the centre of On’s plans for football products.

  • New role: On ambassador.
  • Contract length: 10 years.
  • Additional involvement: shareholder and contributor to football footwear and apparel design.
  • Previous partner: Nike, linked with Mbappé since he was seven.
